Poll Result: Do you think v:tes has a future?

Hi folks!

It never had a past nor a presence...

3 (3%)

Nope. It moved from sort-o-dead to totally dead.

10 (12%)

Maybe Chuck Norris will save v:tes.

17 (21%)

Another 3 years without expansions...

14 (17%)

After the Grand Masquerade everything will go back to normal!

36 (45%)

Though 36 out of totally 80 votes were cast saying that v:tes life will be back to normal after the Grand Masquerade, the majority of the people (55%!!!) were more pessimistic. Rumors I heard actually say that CCP is not going to keep v:tes alive since they don't want to do anything paper related. I don't want to name my source(es) so don't ask for it. Let's hope the rumors turn out to be a false alarm!!!

Tournament Report: ECQ Bratislava - the final

Hi folks!

The ranking before the finals:

1st: Ben Peal - Kyasid yawn-bleed
2nd: Tomas - Anson Ashur Gun
3rd: Peter Korsos - Dmitra Alastor
4th: Frankie - Cybele shatters zhe Gate
5th: Maros - DEM/OBF yawn-bleed

The order they sat down, starting with the player who had to start with 1 transfer:

Peter -> Ben -> Maros -> Frankie -> Tomas

Here are the most important things that happened (I didn't write down every single turn, like player x transfers and discards), in the order they happened:

Peter: didn't draw a Dmitra, also his Dreams got Suddened by Ben
Frankie: could play his dreams, which helped him to get Cybele out by turn 2
Tomas: started with 2 1 caps
Maros: Pentexed the freshly influenced Arcadian
Frankie: drew a lot of Tend the Flocks, Annazir pops out! (can steal equipments)
Peter: tries to play Parity Shift -> gay fight with Anson (no .44 magnum yet!)
Maros: bleed Frankie for 8!
Frankie: Villein - Tend the Flock - Pentex contest, then steals Heart of Cheating from Maros
Peter: even the vampire no.6 is not a Dmitra
Ben: influenced out Phaerydima, has now 2 vampires to go
Maros: bleeds Frankie for a lot
Frankie: Unleashes Hells Fury
Tomas: Liquidation + 3rd Ashur, has a .44 finally. Attacks Carlak.
Ben: starts putting pressure on Maros
Maros: bleeds Frankie down to 3 pool.
Frankie: plays 2nd Unleash Hells Fury, bleeds for 3, plays Enkil Cog
Tomas: Liquidation, has maybe no rush card, bleeds for 1
Peter: brings out Karen Suadela
Ben: Song of Pen, ousts Maros

At this point I have to interrupt the sequence. There are two things here I have to comment. First of all Maros shouldn't have influenced out a 4th vampire imo, since that really just helped Ben a lot. I think he could have killed Frankie next turn, even with 1 less vampire. The other thing is: at the moment he launched an attack against Frankie he did not have the cards to oust him. I don't know his deck, but I think he could not have made it. This way he actually gave Ben 2 vp's by suiciding into Frankie.

Tomas: Fame on Carlak, does not rush cross table.
Peter: plays a Pentex on Anson and plays a Parity Shift backwards. Then classic KRC.
Ben: Song of Pen again, has enough stealth to bypass 2nd Trad. 2nd VP!
Tomas: diablerie on Dame Hollerton
Peter: Villein, calls Anarchist but votes it down together with Tomas. 2 blood for Carlak :)
Ben: Great Symposium, bleed3, Gremlins on .44
Tomas: plays Parity, but Ben blocks with Aura Absorption, Bens vamp goes to torpor
Peter: plays Parity Shift on Ben, gives the pool to Tomas. Tomas won't attack next turn.
Ben: Governs down, brings out new Dame Hollerton
Tomas: plays Montreal, Ben suddens it. Plays liquidation, rushes and torporizes Arcadian
Peter: bleeds for 1 with Carlak. Ben deflects. Carlak gets torporized. Fame ->3pool!!!
Ben: self ousts, to give Peter a vp, since Tomas is way stronger he easily ousts Peter.

Ben 2 Vps, Tomas 2 Vps, Peter 1 Vp, since Ben was 1st seat, he wins the final!

Congratulations to Ben!!!

Tournament Report: ECQ Bratislava - preliminaries

Hi folks!

Finally I got to play v:tes again, this time at an ECQ. As I wrote earlier I needed a divine inspiration. Though the inspiration I've got wasn't divine enough, I did ok. Since I had no time to build a new deck by myself and also I was bored by my old decks I've decided to check the TWDA for something I can build. I've picked Martin Weinmayer's EC winning deck. I made some minor changes in it, like adding 2 copies of mind numb, a card I really missed there.

So here is what happened:

1st round: Me -> Richard Glasner (Ravnos Bree/Boon) -> ??? (Assamite) -> ??? (Arika+obf ventrue)

I had a really good start here! First turn Dreams of the Sphinx, then Troublemaker, Wider View, another Dreams. The master cards were really coming the way they should. Crypt was fine, too. I was aware that sitting between 2 vote decks I can't afford any delay, so I went forward as fast as possible. Thanks God that Arika didn't draw enough politics, so she came bleeding. That was just what I needed to oust faster. After I've ousted Richard I really had no problem with gaining the Second vp. The 1vs1 game against Arika seemed hard in the beginning, but the deck ran out of stealth cards and I could DI a nasty Parity Shift. I managed to block both Arika and Queen Anne and after we both hit for 1, they were left with 0 blood on them. The Pentex I played on Arika was an overkill, but funny for me... 1GW 4 VP

2nd round: Me -> Matus (Owain) -> Jakub (Baali) -> Colos (Petaniqua) -> Maros (OBF-DEM)

Maros had a great start here. He played a Pentex Subversion on Petaniqua right away, leaving him with no predator at all. Maros kept bleedin me like hell, in the early stages of the game I managed to bounce some of them. I tried to bleed Owain myself, but either it was more of a wall deck then I thought, or Matus just had a great draw. I didn't manage to make any pool damage to him. I've got ousted shortly later. 0VP

3rd round: Me-> Botos (PRO-DOM) -> Dano (Cybele-o-tron) -> Tomas (Anson + Volker/Ashur)

This was basically a race against time. I knew that under normal circumstances I can oust Botos, but with the combat engine behind me it seemed like a real challenge. Tomas torporized Cybele right away, and was going for me pretty soon. Fortunately I managed to outspeed him and got my VP before a Frontal Assault + Haven Uncovered on the new Cybele won Tomas the game. 1VP

So altogether I made 1GW 5VP's which was enough for a tied 7th place. I did qualify the 3rd time, but once more missed the final by 0,5 VP's. The place was really ok and the people were all very nice. We enjoyed the game, and that is the most important thing. I hope the people there will start organizing more tournaments!!! I made a bunch of pictures, check them here!

And here is my deck:

Even more v:tes gods :)

Hi folks!

I can't remember the last time I played v:tes. Since there are no games or tournaments I played I have nothing to report. Since I don't play I don't build new decks. So what can I do? Do some research! I've updated the v:tes gods list. I will write an article about the Pharaoh vampires soon. This time I will not only post the links, but I will write some text too...

Meanwhile feel free to write me if you miss any "god" from the list!

After another HNC round was held in Bonyhád I've updated the Ranking page. I couldn't play the tournament so no report from my side. Thirteen players showed up there to watch Balázs Sebestyén winning. Congrats!

Summon History: gods in v:tes

Hi folks!

It's been a while since my last Summon History article. This time I decided against writing an actual article. Instead I will list those crypt cards who refer to certain gods and give you a link to some sites. I think most of us do know some basic stuff about these deities, but I thought that it might be nice to have the complete list here. So here they are, by alphabetical order:

Ankou

Cybele

Huitzilopochtli

Louhi

Mictlantecuhtli

Nergal

Sutekh

Voodoo gods (Loa)

Others (Semi-gods, spirits, giants, etc)

If you guys know of any other god being a v:tes crypt card, please tell me!

Deck Idea: Maleficia Vote Deck

Hi folks!

I just had an awesome idea! Why not build a Maleficia Vote Deck with Annazir and Friends using Barreness to decrease capacity and play Neonate Breach. Add some Reckless Agitation and you have a crazy ousting power. Not only Barreness is useful, you can make good use of Psalm of the Damned, too.

The point is: reduce capacity so that every player has a vampire with capacity 4 or less. This way 1 Neonate Breach can inflict 16 pool damage to the table. AWESOME!!! Of course you need to play this smart otherwise the entire table will pull out your eyes and skull-fuck you...

Have fun shredding playaz!
